Knitting Vacations
One would think that when you own a knitting shop, you have all kinds of time to knit. Wrong. It takes a conference or an actual vacation to allow me to put my hands back on my needles.
Soooooo…. I am on vacation in Wisconsin. Can we hear a great big Ahhhhh. Yes, I go on vacation and knit and search out knitting stores and opportunities to play with more fibers.
I am hosting a free workshop at a local Wisconsin yarn store on Japanese stitches. I learned about these wonderful stitches at The Sock Summit. Can we hear another Ahhhhhh!!! I love visiting other shops. The community of knitters and stitchers jumps state lines and oozes into everyone’s being. It is so contagious. The shop I am visiting is Sutter’s Gold n’ Fleece in St Germaine, Wisconsin. Fun little shop with a great owner (Liz). Pictures to follow.

Turkish Stitches Rock
Anna Zilboorg is amazing. Not to mention being in the same room with Anna, Meg Swanson, Barbara Walker, Cat Bordhi and all of the other amazing people teaching at the Summit. Did I say it was amazing? I did Japanese stitches with Judy Sumner at KnitPurl. She is the authur of Knitted Socks East and West. I have got to do a demo at The Stitchin’ Den. I will let everyone know when that happens.

Socks In Portland
What an incredible experience being in Portland and walking around staring at everyone’s feet. And no one thought it was weird. That’s what is weird. The conference has ended and I will be posting what was great about The Summit. More later…
