Needlework Boutique and Gallery

The Stitchin' Den's needlework department has been totally remodeled.  Great light and a table for stitchin'. Space for picking out fibers. Refreshments from The Spirit Cafe are handy. We have Waverly wool, DMC floss and ribbons. This is your special space for doing what you love.

The shop offers a haven for stitchers with great projects, fibers, books,, accessories, camps and gatherings.

Custom designs are available by Judy Russell of JR Designs and Susan Bloomquist of Stitch One. If you can imagine it, we can do it!

We carry the complete line of Fireside cross stitch charts and kits. We specialize in cross stitch which focuses on scenes and designs indigenous to the Rocky Mountains and surrounding areas.  Fireside designs are also available in our web store.


Susan Bloomquist owns Stitch One out of Boulder, Colorado. She designs and represents many beautiful needlepoint canvases. Flatirons Walk is pictured here and is available in the shop and from our web store.

Judy Russel is a long time Estes park local. She is a talented artist and has created many needlepoint canvases and cross stitch charts depicting beautiful scenes of the Rocky Mountains. All her canvases are handpainted by her. All of her designs can be viewed at the shop or in our web shop.

Cross stitch is beautiful and easy to learn. Your project is worked from a chart onto fabric by counting for placement. These projects can be as easy or as challenging as you want them to be. The Stitchin’ Den offers great ideas, projects, fibers, fabric and notions.

Each shop will have a free cross stitch chart for a Christmas Ornament. Fiber packs will be available for purchase. You will have a passport that will be stamped at each needlework shop participating. The Stitchin’ Den is a bonus shop. Register for a drawing for a $25.00 Stitchin’ Den gift certificate. There will also be a drawing for a Shop Hop drawing

French Knots are easy and a great way to accent your stitching. They can be worked in clusters or alone. One color or a bunch. One texture or more. They can be an eye on a critter or a center of a flower. They can add color and texture to any piece.
Bring your needle up to the right side of the fabric.
Twist the thread once around the needle. Some say to wrap the thread around more than once. Others say wrapping it multiple times result in a knot being too bulky.
Hold onto the needle and thread firmly but not too tightly.
Insert the needle back into the fabric in the same spot, or right next to the same spot.
Pull the thread through the fabric.

Needle Nutz is a group of needleworks that is looking to form at The Stitchin' Den. It is a fun group of all types of stitchers who will meet at the Stitchin’ Den from 3PM until 5PM on Sunday afternoons. Novice stitchers, experts or stitcher wanna bes are all welcomed. Lots of help and support will be available at each group.
