North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley is looking for knitted and crocheted hats for babies. These hats are for premature and normal newborns especially in Weld county. Thanks to Janet West of Greeley for providing the knitted pattern for these hats. It was posted in our December Newsletter and is now on the Yarn page at www.thestitchinden.com
Warm The World focuses on US children in our foster care system as well as seveal targeted orphanges overseas and at risk adults. You can donate handmade afghans, hats and scarves or your left over yarn (nicely balled).

The Estes Valley Knitter's Guild is supporting the Estes Park police and ambulance service. They are in need of blankets to be kept in their emergency vehicals. You can knit or crochet asny worsted weight machine washable yarn into 10 inch by 10 inch squares. thanks to JoAnn Mullen and Liz DeCleene for orgaining and coordinating making these donations into squares.

Susan G. Komen is one of our favorite foundations. They need donations of knitted or crocheted hats and scarves out of machine washable pink yarn. All proceed from the sale of these donations go to fund breast cancer research.

Hats and scarves for the childen of Nepal began seveal years ago and was brought to The Stitchin' Den by Collette Smith. Collette worked at the shop for several years and has continued to inspire people to created beautiful knitted items.

The Stitchin’ Den staff enjoys having everyone stop and visit us in the shop. We have a lot of room to sit and chat while working on our favorite projects. We have created a cozy safe community of people enjoying each other, fiber, color and a moment to stop and catch your breath.
Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park are perfect destinations for your travels within this country. The weather is warm and all of the flowers are exploding with color. The elk are wandering around town.
Estes is small enough making most shops and restaurants within walking distance from your hotel or campground. The hiking, fly fishing, golfing, horseback riding and camping are fabulous.
Our shop has space for all of its wonderful stitchery charts, canvases, fibers, books and classes. The needlework area even has its own table for picking fibers or working on a project.
About the Stitchin’ Den
If someone 10 years ago would have told me I would be a fiberholic and own a knitting and needlework shop, I would have laughed in their face. I had been a Registered Nurse for 29 years, a profession I loved, but I wanted to do something different. So I went back to college and got a business degree and decided to open The Stitchin’ Den in May of 2000 to fill a niche in Estes Park, Colorado.
Now I’ve owned The Stitchin’ Den for nine years. I have always been in Estes Park, but I am in my fourth location. It is true the third time is the charm. I am located at the Courtyard shops amidst beautiful trees, waterfalls, birds, a trout pond and a cozy deck. True knit and stitch nirvana.
This business is my love and my passion. All the fibers used in knitting, cross stitch and needlepoint are extraordinary. My customers inspire me everyday with their creativity, sense of design and choice of fibers.
The Stitchin’ Den is all about you and fueling the genteel arts of knitting, crochet, needlepoint and cross stitch. Everyone coming to the shop enhances it in some way. Customers share their ideas, projects and stories about their craft. Staff with their support for the shop and everyone coming into browse or just sit and work on their project.
My web site will show you what is new and exciting at The Stitchin’ Den. It will provide all who visit with an opportunity to learn and be inspired. Our Creative Camps are always new, exciting and an oasis of fun and learning in all of our busy lives.
Attending a Creative Camp in a luxurious mountain setting will provide decadence while at the same time providing instruction in techniques in knitting, needlework, ribbon embroidery and cross stitch.
The newsletter will keep you informed about great events happening at The Den and surrounding areas, spotlight new fibers and offer free instruction on patterns and stitches. Hand Knitters Master Knitter Program
Susan, Donna, Pam, Deb, and Liz are all starting the Hand Knitters Master Knitter Program sponsored by The National Knitter's Guild.
We are meeting regularly at Kind Coffee in Estes Park to make sure we all stay on track. It is a lot of fun and is helping us fine tune all of our skills.
Interested in forming a stitchin' group?
The Stitchin' Den would like to help. We have several opportunities to meet in the shop. Monday afternoons, Tuesday mornings, Saturday all day or Sundays during the summer.
Join groups already in session at Notchtop every Thursday at 2PM or the 1st and 3rd Monday night with the Knitting Margaretas at Casa Grande
Novice stitchers, experts or stitcher wanna bes are all welcomed. A lot of help and support will be available at each group.
