Knitting 101-Introduction to Cables

Class will be held on Zoom

Create a knitted head band wile learning how to perform cables.  This class is a great prerequisite to the Vintage Afghan Class.

Date: Friday, October 9th

Time: 1:30pm –5pm Mountain Time

Prerequisite skills: In order for you to feel comfortable in this class, students should know how to cast on, knit, purl, bind off. This is a great class for beginning knitters who want to increase their skill level.

Materials Needed: Paula will provide the pattern; 1 skein of yarn; 2 sets of size 13 needle straight or 24” circular (one set can be a double point needle); cable needle; size J crochet hook; tapestry needle, scissors, small amount of scrap yarn

Yarn Recommended: 1 skein of Brown Sheep Lambs Pride Bulky

Class Outcomes: Students will increase their confidence and knitting knowledge by completing a headband. This project will focus on learning how to perform left and right cables. Students will also learn how to do a provisional cast on and three needle bind off.

Most students will be able to complete the whole headband during class and
will walk away with an amazing cable headband.
