Class Description: Michelle Hunter’s color skill-building course returns to The Stitchin'Den, it is one of our most popular classes.  Learn to expertly manage multiple colors while creating a gorgeous sampler afghan. Create intarsia and other deliciously fun colorwork techniques. Many of the designs are timeless favorites, some are original creations, and ALL of them are deliciously fun!

Prerequisite skills:  In order for you to feel comfortable in this class, students should know how to cast on, knit, purl, cast off.  Great class for beginners and intermediate knitters who want to increase their skill level.

Materials Needed:

Building in Color Book

Yarn-(see below)

Needles-Size 6 or 7 24" circular or size to obtain gauge

Stitch Markers

Cable Needle

Tapestry Needle 

Yarn Recommended: 

Cascade 220, Cascade 220 Superwash, Encore, Canadiana any WORSTED WEIGHT YARN.  3 contrasting colors are needed and I recommend you do not use heathered or variegated yarn. (936 yards of each color) We recommend 5 skeins/balls of each color.

Class Outcomes: Students will learn more than 11 different stitches, how to work with multiple colors at the same time, blocking, seaming, picking up stitches, colorwork
