Class Description: Michelle Hunter’s lace skill-building course returns to The Stitchin'Den, it is one of our most popular classes. It is carefully designed sequence of stitch patterns that introduce knitters to lace work starting with the basics and working towards more difficult stitch patterns to make on elegant shawl. You will learn skills including pattern reading, working lace charts, knitting lace, Japanese stitches, attached edges, simple cables, wrapped stitches, bobbles, knitting with beads, nupps and more! You’ll finish this course with a stunning, signature shawl that showcases all of your new knitting skills.
Prerequisite skills: In order for you to feel comfortable in this class, students should know how to cast on, knit, purl, cast off. Great class for beginners or for anyone who wants to increase their skill level.
Hikoo Rylie from Skacel 5 skeins are needed. (Some people needed a 6th skein)
Class Outcomes: This is a carefully designed sequence of patterns that introduce knitters to lace work starting with the basics and working towards more difficult patterns. Students will learn 9 different lace patterns, provisional cast on, Russian join, chart reading, how to use beads with lace, the basics of lace knitting, lifelines & blocking.
