Class Description: Building with Lace is the third publication from renowned knitter and teacher, Michelle Hunter. It is a carefully designed sequence of stitch patterns that introduce knitters to lace work starting with the basics and working towards more difficult stitch patterns to make one elegant shawl. This work follows the same format as Michelle’s earlier publications, Building Blocks and Building in Color, and has been a long awaited addition to this educational series.
Prerequisite skills: In order for you to feel comfortable in this class, students should know how to cast on, knit, purl, cast off. Great class for beginners and intermediate knitters who want to increase their skill level.
Materials Needed: Building with Lace Book, Yarn, Needles, Markers, Cable Needle, Blunt End Needle for tucking strings. Optional beads and crochet hook
Students receive a 20% discount on supplies needed for class. All yarn must be purchased at The Stitchin' Den.
Yarn Recommended: Hikoo Rylie from Skacel. 5 skeins are needed.
Class Outcomes: This is a carefully designed sequence of patterns that introduce knitters to lace work starting with the basics and working towards more difficult patterns. Students will learn 10 different lace patterns, how to use beads with lace, the basics of lace knitting, & blocking.
