KIDZ CAMP 2021 will be held outside the shop in The Courtyard
Join us in our beautiful courtyard as we explore a different fiber art each month. Kids of all ages are invited to make their own masterpiece to take home. These fiber fun in the sun days are designed to introduce kids to fantastic fiber arts and crafts that they can continue to explore at home.
June 26th-KoolAid Dying (Be sure to wear something that is okay to get stained!)
KoolAid for dyeing yarn?!?! The vitamin C in KoolAid mixes with the bold colors (and nice scents) to permanently dye wool yarn and roving (sheep fleece that hasn't been spun into yarn yet). Dye some colorful fiber of your own that you can use to weave a fantastic wall hanging or for other crafts.
July 24th-Paracord Bracelets
Learn to knot these popular survival bracelets in awesome colors. Did you know that paracord (parachute cord) can hold up to 550 pounds? What better way to be prepared to help out in an emergency than to have a stylish bracelet that you can untie and use for super strong rope!
August 21st-Cardboard Weaving
Do you think you need a big expensive loom to make amazing woven decorations? Think again!! So many artists actually use homemade cardboard looms to get the sizes and shapes that they want. These amazing mandalas (circular designs that radiate like the rays of the sun, and swirl in an explosion of color) make fantastic decorations and good luck charms to hang on your wall. What else could you use them for? Once you learn the techniques, you'll be able to make your own at home and the possibilities are endless.
Price: $15 per session. Price includes all the supplies to complete the project. We ask that parents/guardians plan to attend with their child, or relax in the courtyard during class.
