Create a lace bookmark while learning how to create lace patterns from stitches including k2tog, yo, ssk and k3tog tbl.

Prerequisite skills:  In order for you to feel comfortable in this class, students should know how to cast on, knit, purl, and bind off.  This is a great class for beginning knitters who want to increase their skill level. 

Materials Needed:  Paula will provide the pattern before class; 1 skeins of fingering weight yarn; 1 set of size 2 needles (can be double pointed or straight needles), tapestry needle, stitch markers and scissors.

The pattern is inspired from the Building in Lace book by Michelle Hunter.

Yarn Recommended: 1 skein of Wildfoote Luxury Sock Yarn (not a dark color)

Class Outcomes: Students will increase their confidence and knitting knowledge by completing a lace bookmark.  This project will focus on learning the basics of lace knitting by combining increases and decreases.  Students will also learn k2tog, ssk, yo and k3tog tbl while learning which is a left and right leaning decrease. 

Most students will be able to complete the whole bookmark during class and will walk away with a fun and completed project
