Knitting 101-Knit in the Round

Class will be held on Zoom

Create a baby hat while learning how to knit in the round with double pointed needles (DPNs).  This class is a great prerequisite for the Simple Classic Mitten, Rye Sock Class, Mitten Garland, and Fair Isle Stocking Class.

Prerequisite skills: In order for you to feel comfortable in this class, students should know how to cast on, knit, purl, bind off.  This is a great class for beginning knitters who want to increase their skill level.

Materials Needed: Paula will provide the pattern before class ; 1 skein of yarn; 1 set of size 13 DPNs, tapestry needle, stitch markers, and scissors.

Yarn Recommended: 1 skein of Brown Sheep Lambs Pride Bulky

Class Outcomes:  Students will increase their confidence and knitting knowledge by completing a baby hat.  This project will focus on learning how to use double pointed needles while knitting in the round.  Students will learn how to cast on with double pointed needles and join in the round.  Students will also learn how to complete the construction of most hat patterns.  Most students will be able to complete the whole baby hat during class and will walk away with a fun and completed project.
